Hungarian dancer, teacher, choreographer Balázs Baranyai attended the Dance Art School of Pecs in Hungary, he graduated with honors and then entered the Hungarian Dance Art Academy.
Later Balázs continued his studies, supplementing his education with the International Dance Cours of Palluca Schulle, Dresden in 1999, Alicia Alonso Dance Cours, Madrid in 2000 and Ballet des Jeunes d'Europe, Aix-en Provence in 2001.

During his dance career, Balázs Baranyai has worked with such companies as Opera de Lyon, Ballet d'Europe, Compagnie Pal Frenak and became the director and ballet teacher of the Rijeka National Theater (2013-2016).

Balázs' rich stage and choreographic experience is complemented by extensive teaching practice at:
- Hungarian Dance Academy - guest contemporary dance teacher and choreographer;
- Bratislava Dance Academy - invited teacher of classical dance, modern dance and choreographer;
- New Hungarian Dance Theater;
- Lille (France);
- Yekaterinburg Dance Theater (Russia);
- TNT Dances (Russia) - choreographer;
- Viewpoint Teacher (Russia);
- Kannon Dance (Russia);
- Dance Academy B. Eifman (St. Petersburg, Russia) - teacher of modern dance.

Currently Balázs is an assistant of  Nacho Duato, the teacher and choreographer of the Mikhailovsky Theater.

Balázs Baranyai was rewarded with such awards as:
- Hungarian Nationwide Dance Competition 1997: Second Prize
- The first competition of choreographers of HDAA and Noverre foundation 1999: First Prize
- The third competition of choreographers of HDAA and Noverre foundation 2001: Second Prize
- Berlin Tanzolymp 2015: Special Prize.
