Internationally famous Latvian ballerina Evelina Godunova was born in Riga.
Graduated from the Riga Choreography School in 2010, studied with the Royal Ballet academy, Moscow Ballet Academy, had classes in Wien.

Evelina started her artistic career on the Latvian National Opera stage at the age 11 in the role of Queen's Grove in Swan Lake. In 2015 she was nominated for the Latvian Theatre Award Spelmanu nakts as the best dancer of the Season 2014/2015 for the role of Juliette (Romeo and Juliette). She also danced as Soloist of the Universal Ballet in Seoul.

In 2017, she became the first female Latvian Ballerina who won a Gold Medal and Special Prize at the prestige Moscow International Ballet Competition.

Since 2018 Evelina is the First Soloist at Staatsballett Berlin, dancing main roles as Sugar Plum, Aurora, Giselle, Kitri, Juliette etc. Nominated as the Best Dancer of the Year 2018 by DanceEurope ballet magazine.

Evelina Godunova is a winner of many Worldwide International Ballet Competitions like Seoul Ballet Competition in South Korea, Moscow Competition XXIII in Russia, Jackson Ballet Competition in USA, International Beijing Ballet Competition in China, Spoleto Ballet Competition in Italy, Grace Ballet Competition in France, Serge Lifar's Ballet Competition in Ukraine etc.
