Ilya Novoseltsev was born on October 31, 1965 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). From 1975 to 1983 he studied at the Leningrad Academic Art School named after Agrippina Vaganova (now the Vaganova Academy) in the class of the teacher Lev Ivanov.
In 1986 Ilya Novoseltsev became a soloist of the Udmurt Opera and Ballet Theatre. Since 1985 he was a soloist of the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Mikhail Glinka. From 1987 to 1993 he worked at the Eifman Ballet Company. From 1993 to 2005 he worked at the Mikhailovsky Theater. In 2002, he got the degree at the Vaganova Academy as a teacher. Since 2004, he's been a teacher of classical dance at the Vaganova Academy.
In 1986 Ilya Novoseltsev became a soloist of the Udmurt Opera and Ballet Theatre. Since 1985 he was a soloist of the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Mikhail Glinka. From 1987 to 1993 he worked at the Eifman Ballet Company. From 1993 to 2005 he worked at the Mikhailovsky Theater. In 2002, he got the degree at the Vaganova Academy as a teacher. Since 2004, he's been a teacher of classical dance at the Vaganova Academy.
His most prominent ballet performances: "Swan Lake" - the harlequin, "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" - Mercutio, "Walpurgis Night" - Pan, "Polovtsian Dances", "Twelfth Night" - Sir Andrew, "The Marriage of Figaro" - Cherubino, "The Duel" - Khlebnikov, "Pinocchio" - Pinocchio, "Le Spectre de la rose" - Rose.
