RMOI star guest Maria Khoreva
POSTED ON01.03.2021
She is an heir to a great tradition. She has the looks and tenderness of Diaghilev’s “baby ballerinas”, seems to have the character of the Iron Lady and is a graduate of the teacher that raises superstars – the legendary Lyudmila Kovalyova. This is all about Maria Khoreva, a first soloist with the Mariinsky Ballet and one of the most talked-about young stars of her generation.

Just the sound of her surname reminds of the Greek word for dancing – “choreo” – and she says, she cannot help dancing.

Maria graduated from the Vaganova Academy in 2018 and by now has danced the roles of Nikiya, Princess Aurora, Raymonda, Paquita, to name just a few.

She even appeared in Balanchine’s “Jewels”, namely, in “Diamonds” – the role unofficially reserved for a prima donna.

A beautiful girl, a renowned dancer, a successful blogger, a writer (in 2020, she published her book “Teach Me Ballet. How to Educate My Body”)... She definitely knows the secret of how to get it all and we’re lucky to have her with us: you’ll have a chance to get a clue, too.
