Svetlana Bednenko - ballet star
POSTED ON16.05.2023
We’re delighted to introduce Svetlana Bednenko @svetlana_bednenko another great dancer to join our gala concert in Alicante on 22 July.

Svetlana means “light”, and Svetlana Bednenko’s dance is as radiant as her name. This stylish ballerina with long limbs, classical lines and amazing musicality astonishes the public with her first appearance on stage.
The Financial Times ballet critic once said that her “legs are like a switchblade, arms like charmed snakes”. Be it Odette or Nikiya, Kitri or Esmeralda, she creates a character that you won’t forget.

As a child, she trained to be a professional athlete but one day she saw “Swan Lake” – and her life changed forever. Svetlana entered a ballet school in Ukrainian Donetsk, where Inna Dvorovenko, the ballerina who starred as Odette – Odile on the memorable evening, became her teacher. Do you want some more incredible coincidences? Now Svetlana Bednenko is a soloist with Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where her coach Inna Dvorovenko was a soloist, too.
Svetlana has been a star of Boris Eifman Ballet Company and Mikhailovsky Theatre in St Petersburg, where she worked with the most renowned coaches, including Alla Osipenko, the famous Soviet ballerina. And guess what? You can see Svetlana Bednenko in “The White Crow”, the film about Rudolf Nureyev, in the role of Osipenko.

An actress, a model, a ballet star – she is a truly versatile person. And you really need to see her!
